Dont Stress. Do your best. Forget the rest. Citizens all around the country struggle with stress. Finding strategies to cope with stress early is important because it keeps stressors manageable and reduces harmful impacts of stress. As many negative impacts of stress affect daily life, solutions may help. Finding these strategies can overall help reduce stress and make life better. Our goal, both as students and later in the real world, is to figure out how to manage our stress and make it a positive force in our lives.

There are three different types of stress: cataclysmic, personal, and background. Cataclysmic stress occurs when lots of people are stressed at one time — such as a plane crash. The cause of cataclysmic stress is not necessarily a dire situation; it could be something like a broadway cast getting ready to go on stage. Personal stressors: this includes personal failure or loss of a loved one. These stressors can also be positive,  the anticipation of starting a new job. Background stressors: this could be standing in a long line at the grocery store or getting stuck in a traffic jam. Sometimes background stress can be good; when your little girl starts school, for example.

Test can be a major factor of high school stress. Here are some tips to reduce stress levels during finals season so we as high school students can reflect our knowledge better on our tests.

Plan ahead - Time crunches are a major source of stress. The more time you have to study and prepare, the better you will leading up to a big test or assessment.

Take care of yourself - Take some time to exercise. It will give you some time to focus on yourself. Get some rest. Your body needs to rest and reset itself for tomorrow. A good night’s sleep will get rid of the worry of being sleepy when you need to be on your A-game.As busy people, we forget how important taking care of our body can be. A good amount of food and rest is very important to our bodies. Otherwise we become drained, let alone stressed! Work can be hard and not always directly easy. Our performance of all these things can be improved with solutions

Find yourself - My favorite way to deal with stress is to learn how to calm yourself down. It might be as simple as counting to three. It may include talking to one of our school counselors or your teacher.  In every subject there will be stuff you are comfortable with, use those to your advantage.
